OUR STORY

1982 – Joining the 3rd generation of quality curators

In 1982, Pat officially joined in on the 3rd generation of butchers in his family. Having lived above his family’s butcher shop and helping out over weekends and school holidays, Pat developed a great eye for quality.

1996 – The birth of Ballymooney Foods

Originating as an ‘on the road show’, fueled by a commitment to providing quality without compromising reliability. We were and are, constantly reacting to changing customer needs.

Ballymooney moved to its first premises in Kilcock where its loyal customer and employee base began to thrive.

Continuously harnessing our drive for a passion in delivering exceptional quality meats, meeting evolving customer needs, and embracing innovative practices within the industry.

In 2010, Ballymooney relocated to Clane, Co. Kildare, where we have called home ever since.

THE PROCESSING FACITLITY

Our state of the art and purpose-built factory, built in 2018, on a greenfield site has equipped us with greater opportunities for efficiency and scaling without encroaching on our sustainability targets.

When it comes to what we do best – expertly processing Ireland’s best lamb and beef to customer specification – that means being passionate about setting new standards for industry innovation, technology and best practice.

We know that the great lengths, we go to in our plant make all the difference on your plate.
